Property Tribes

Property Tribes partners with The Property Investor Show 2010 @investor_show .... #propshow

Property Tribes and Nick's consultancy, Social Media Graffiti, are delighted to announce that we have joined forces with The Property Investor Show 2010 to help promote the show within the on-line investor/Landlord communities.

The Property Investor Show & OPP Live returns to ExCeL London, 14-16 October 2010 featuring a combination of regular and new exhibitors - and 3 separate seminar/conference programmes.  It is also set to feature a live property auction on Friday, 15th October!

Nick and I will be speaking about holiday lets and using social media for your property business during the seminar programme.

We will also be hosting the "Property Tribes Landlord Panel" on the Friday, which will take the form of an open forum/debate for Landlords to discuss issues of the moment.  This will be broadcast on the social web via Twitter.  Hashtag #propshow.

Any Property Tribes member booking a stand at the event will be eligible for the special offer of a FREE show guide advertisement.  Please email:  enquiries@propertyinvestor.co.uk for prices.  Please quote "Property Tribes".

Tickets for the event are free and you can register for your e-tickets >>> here.

Further details for the show can be found >>> here.

Along with our speaker appearances, we will also have a stand at the show.  We hope that many PT members will drop by and say "hello" and also support the Landlords Forum.  Co-ordinate your meetings through Property Tribes and get the most out of the show!

You can also follow show up-dates on Twitter @investor_show.

This is THE must attend property event of the year where the property tribes gather.  It's a great place for business, networking, and education, so we hope to see you there!

I haven't made any plans whatsoever yet. I might just go to the Tribes Party & not bother with the Investor Show.
I went along to the show last year for the first time. I met up with a few PT members there which was good and a couple of the panel discussions were interesting.

Overall, it was a bit disappointing as a lot of the exhibitors were selling off-plan overseas properties (which didn't particularly interest me) and it wasn't that well attended when I was there.

Its good to know that PT will have a stand this year as it will be a good focal point for people to meet up and network. I like Nick's idea of having a bit of a party!

It will be interesting to see who is speaking this year and whether the speakers will be different to the usual speakers you get on the property circuit

Makes sense to have this kind of a link up Vanessa.

May miss most of you then as I will probably attend the Thursday rather than the weekend.

Adrian, I have been the last few years and the show last year was slightly better than the year before. I derive benefit from going to carefully chosen seminars and catching up with my network of property-related people.

Hi Adrian (and others),

Having gone for several years (and exhibited last year), I would recommend avoiding Saturday if you want some "quality property time." The attendance is lower but of much higher quality on the Thurs pm and Fri am.

Regarding speakers, the reality is most slots are given to exhibitors as an incentive to take space (they even let me speak!) so you need to sort the wheat from the chaff. Richard Bowser of PIN usually hosts quite an entertaining panel debate but expect the majority to comprise NMD, BMV, how to turn a rabbit's ear into a £4m portfolio within 5 seconds etc!

Good morning to all at Property Tribes,

Thanks first to Vanessa and Nick for working with us in advance of the show and bringing their expertise to the event. There are some interesting points and useful points in this thread which we will answer directly. Also pleased to have already received some questions via email from members which I am quickly answering.

Good to see that many of you are already familiar with the event. The Property Investor Show is constantly changing and adapting around investor trends and your input is valuable for this show and years to come.

Hi Adrian,

People not interested in off-plan overseas properties (which didn't particularly interest you) do mention this to me but there is a good number of investors (more so agents) who like these companies and are still buying overseas. I wish there were more UK companies as the majority of our audience is there to network, review service providers and investment schemes.

In answer to your point regarding speakers there is often the same speakers but these theatres are always full. Regular speakers such as David Lawrenson, Richard Bowser and Stuart Law have contributed greatly to the show over the years. There are new speakers on the programme already (not least of all Nick & Vanessa with guests) so check the website updates and announcements will follow. If you think someone should be speaking at the show then let me know and I will investigate.

Regards

James

Thanks Nick,

Last year the feedback was that Thursday/Friday were the better days and higher quality meetings. If this was the case every year rest assured we would not open Saturday but not every year is the same feedback. I maintain that at these shows one visitor can make really the whole show for an exhibitor and they may arrive Saturday. Equally there are some visitors that can only make a Saturday so we will continue as last year for now.

Interesting you mention the seminar being used for stand sales. Other UK shows focused towards landlords/investors have charged for speaking slots which we prefer not to do. We think it is important to have for visitors and people attending seminars to meet with the speakers and they need an area to do so.

Barely a day passes when I am not approached by someone who just wants to speak and not contribute to the show in any financial way. If this person was Warren Buffett then rest assured you would see him on the profile but in the main it is not viable.

Also in the past we have published non-exhibiting speakers, taken visitors money and then the speaker has failed to turn up leaving us with a headache to sort out. The commitment of running a stand along with the seminar gives the whole exercise more value to the speaker. However, as I said before I am happy to investigate anyone (within reason) that Tribe members feel would add value to the programme.

This sounds like a good opportunity to catch up with folk.

I'll probably attend either Thursday or Friday as I find the popular weekend days often attract the 'tyre kicker' types.

Mr Dare, if you give a 'how to turn a rabbit's ear into a £4m portfolio within 5 seconds' talk, then book me up :-)
