Hi All,
I am really trying to remain consistant when it comes to posting on my blogs and forums but sometimes stuff just crops up and I have to keep putting off my postings and contributions. :-(
So a New Year is approaching and one of my goals for the new year is to set some time aside each week to contribute to the forums I am a member of and to update my blogs. There I've said it and I'd like you all to hold me accountable!
There's no time like the present, is there? and I have therefore b…

I joined the tribe a few weeks ago, started a discussion on SRB and then ducked out. Sorry - been busy trying to get planning permission for change of use at my office, What a nightmare! I enjoyed the feed back from that discussion. I also enjoyed a night out at the ship in Weybridge last week although I arrived late and was not quite on the wavelength, for which, I hope, those who attended will accept my apologies.
I am retired, own a BLT in Sunbury and run two small companies.
The house is l…

I would just like to say what an excellent presentation Nick and Vanessa gave at Property Consultants 365 event on Wednesday night on "social media".
It was both informative and interesting and I'm sure everyone who attended got something out of it.
I'll put their theories to the test and keep you updated.

Apologies to Vanessa and Nick, but unfortunately I now can't make the event tonight. Pleeese can someone post up some key points or insights raised tonight by either speakers, as I really did not want to miss out on this great mega event. Alternatively if it's too long a task and you're willing for me to call you and quiz you, then leave me a message to call you!
Many thanks in advance. Enjoy tonight.
All best, Jane Skynner

Watch the BBC News footage or download the agreement (all 7 pages of it!) and checklist to save at least 50% on empty rates & meet your CSR goals at the same time.

Hi everyone,
As some of you will know I split my time living half in the Uk and half in Zimbabwe.
Well, with the onset of Autumn I decided it was time to come back to Zim and the best climate in the world ( Lonely Planet on Harare ). One other factor was my wife threatening divorce if I didn't come back.
I'm actually a Brit from Croydon and run May Properties with my brother Del who will be keeping things going while I'm away. In Zim, I have a business partner John and we provide serviced accomm…

Good morning,
I am not sure about Options but a friend of mine is considering the following idea.
He owns outright a two bedroomed two bathroom terraced house in Stockport which was fully refurbished 12 months ago. It has been rented out(£550 PCM) for the past year and the tenants are moving on. As he spends considerable time overseas he does not want to be bothered letting again and he does not need the cash (from a sale) immediately he was considering offering an Option to buy.
His proposition…

You may have heard about HMRC's '
New Disclosure Opportunity' (NDO) which starts on 1 September 2009. Here are 5 facts you need to know:
1 - You have nothing to worry about if you've been honest
As long as you have fully disclosed on your tax returns all of your taxable income and gains you have nothing to worry about. However, the NDO is especially relevant for anyone who has omitted to disclose any of…

Hi Guys,
Thought I would try my first real blog!!!!
I have recently placed a lease option offer for a property I wanted. I could not get the owner direct so had to go through the Agents. I explained in depth the whole idea verbally and in writing, but did not get their support. Not only did they not understand the idea, they were jealous of me, and it just did not work. I suppose it did not help that the Owner was overseas and could not see the advantage of the sale. Ultimately perhaps he real…

We are entering the era of the individual and the networked economy. In order for you and your business to stand out from the crowd, you need to be a leader.

Here are some questions you could consider asking. It is intended to be a complete list, you will not always ask all the questions. The questions were posted on a U.S. investor club forum several years ago by a Marc Coan. Still useful today. The larger your complex, the more time you will want to spend spend choosing a management company. The most important question is how do they screen tenants. The most important thing to do is check references.
